2008 Conference
First Annual International 3D Animation and Visual Effects Conference
In order to support our mission to engage industry and academia in collaboration focused on digital design education in China, the DDF is planning a large-scale international conference in late 2008 that will include four main components:
Educational Symposium
The DDF’s Board of Advisors, award winning animators and educators from around the world, will share recent work and research with top Chinese animation universities and schools throughout a series of interactive panel discussions and presentations themed on how to adapt global “best practices” to the Chinese context.
Exhibition & Trade Fair
With both international and domestic companies and schools exhibiting, a full range of products as well as educational and financial services will be on display.
Student Contests
While international exchange and exhibition/trade are important and essential functions of a conference designed to support industry development, engaging the audience directly though the work of top Chinese 3D animation and visual effects artists will add an exciting visual dimension to the event. “Chinese Animated Shorts” will be an important way for the conference to provide a visual representation of China’s animation industry. Winning entries will be shown during the conference.
Animation Workshops
Targeted at Chinese instructors of animation, top international artists and educators will hold several half-day workshops. Content, delivered through real-time interpretation, will include the world’s latest technology and instruction techniques.
